Salem stuns Bogue Chitto 21-20 in Region 4-1A tilt

BOGUE CHITTO — Salem head football coach Kenneth Murphy knew his Wildcats faced a huge test on the road Friday night in the form of undefeated Region 4-1A foe Bogue Chitto, ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press 1A poll.

When the final horn sounded, Salem had upset Bogue Chitto 21-20.

Kentwood wins 55-0 at home

KENTWOOD, La. — Kentwood defeated Madison Prep 55-0 Friday.

Kentwood quarterback Shyheim Carter had 101 yards on seven carries and two touchdowns. He completed 7 of 10 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown.

KHS got a safety on the visitors’ first possesion.

Salem keeps playoff hopes alive upsetting Cathedral

SALEM — The Salem Wildcats were fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive, and they got a step closer Friday. Salem defeated Natchez Cathedral 42-26.

Cathedral was No. 4 in the Associated Press 1A rankings.
