Some North Pike Junior High School students went home early Monday after some of them expressed feeling discomfort after buying and consuming cookies and candy from a classmate.
A statement from the school sent to parents on Monday made no mention of the cookies and candies containing drugs.

Former KPCB executive director charged with embezzlement

Keep Pike County Beautiful’s former executive director was charged with embezzlement on Wednesday morning.
Pike County sheriff’s deputies took Jeffery “Jay” Wilson into custody at his house, where they served a search warrant.
Sheriff Wally Jones said investigators looked into the case over the course of two to three months.
