    Episcopal wine tasting set for Thursday

    The Episcopal Church Women’s annual wine tasting will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Episcopal Church of the Mediator in McComb, 215 N. Broadway, with fine wine, food and a silent auction. Proceeds will support outreach ministries in the local community.
    Tickets are $50 and can be purchased from any ECW member and at the event.

    Moak’s grocery career is in the bag

    After more than 50 years in the grocery business, McComb Market manager Gene Moak celebrated his retirement on Saturday.
    “After 50-something years I feel excited about leaving and I think I’m leaving it in good hands,” Moak said. “I’ll probably come back and work a couple days a week just to see the people.

    $400,000 grant hopes to improve downtown safety by targeting blight

    Working on the theory that broken windows and worn-out facades are an invitation for bad behavior, the McComb Main Street Association is using a $400,000 grant to help improve safety in downtown McComb by addressing blight. 
    The recently awarded funding is coming from the Mississippi Main Street Revitalization Grant Program.
