    City OKs raises for firefighters

    After years of asking by the McComb Fire Department, city officials have voted to adopt a new pay scale for firefighters to be in effect by May 1. 
    The fire department has eight vacant positions and has long cited low pay as the cause of vacancies and high turnover.

    Chief outlines MPD’s long-term strategy

    McComb Police Chief Earnest Perry said he has a five-year plan to increase his ranks, improve communications with the public, enhance community policing, embrace technology and proactively fight crime. 
    “One of the first things in my five-year plan was building in house,” Perry told the McComb Exchange Club on Thursday.
