McComb officials discuss terms of nonprofit leases

McComb city officials are determining the next steps to take with leases of city-owned properties.
At the request of city board members, City Attorney Jennifer Collins prepared a list of leases which may soon be terminated so that new terms can be set in the renewed agreements would uniform.

Diamond Jags: N. Pike softball springs upset, cruises past NW Rankin

North Pike’s softball team took to the diamond Friday and secured a dominant 13-7 upset win over visiting Northwest Rankin.

The Lady Jags used some efficient hitting and a strong pitching performance from sophomore Savanna Hanks to oust the 7A Lady Cougars, avenging an earlier 4-1 defeat.

Mobile-Tensaw: one of South’s great swamps

Most people have heard of Deep South swamps like the Everglades and Okefenokee, but Alabama’s Mobile-Tensaw Delta may draw a blank. I attribute that partly to the name, which is confusing.
Mobile is a city in Alabama, right? And Tensaw is a river in Louisiana — no, wait, that’s Tensas. Delta — isn’t that in north Mississippi?
