No. 1 Haynesville next up for No. 5 Kentwood

BASILE, La. — In the quarterfinal round of the Louisiana 1A playoffs, No. 5 seed Kentwood defeated No. 4 seed Basile 32-15 Friday night.

With the win, Kentwood improved to 9-2 overall and advanced to play in the semi-final round against top-seed and 12-0 Haynesville at home next Friday.

Bobcats fall short in region title game

STRINGER — The much-anticipated game for the Region 4-1A championship between Stringer and Bogue Chitto wasn’t as close as many expected.

Stringer’s Red Devils rolled to a 52-24 victory Friday.

Bogue Chitto dropped to 9-2 overall, 7-2 in Region 4-1A, while Stringer improved to 10-1, 8-1.
