Southwest baseball brings home win from Baton Rouge

Southwest baseball traveled to New Orleans on Monday and took down Baton Rouge Community College in a 10-7 win.

Alden Spencer started on the mound for the Bears, pitching 2.2 innings with two strikeouts and picking up the win.

Ian Edwards, Nik Carney, and Tate Miller each recorded a strikeout as well.

Suspect in custody, child found safe after car stolen

A suspected car thief is in custody after a multi-agency chase following a car theft and the taking of a 4-year-old child who was inside the vehicle Tuesday night.

Sheriff Wally Jones said the 4-year-old was found walking alone on Lynn Avenue in McComb around 8:30 p.m. and a passerby picked up the child and alerted authorities.
