FAA gives Walthall grant for airport improvements

Walthall County will receive a $100,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration for airport improvements, U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., announced Friday.
The FAA awarded $21.48 million in 52 grants to airports across the state for runway construction, lighting, signage and terminal improvements.

FEMA closing Pike disaster recovery center Saturday

Pike County’s disaster recovery center for survivors of the March tornado outbreak to apply for federal assistance is closing Saturday, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency officials said Thursday.
The center is located at Silver Creek Baptist Church, 8017 Silver Drive.

Drivers license offices close today
