A gunman held up the Dollar General store on Highway 570 west of McComb just after the store closed Tuesday night, and sheriff’s deputies are searching for the suspect.
Sheriff’s officials said the robber forced his way through the front door of the store at the intersection of Enterprise Road at 10:09 p.m., brandished a firearm, threatened the clerk and demanded cash.
An image obtained from surveillance cameras shows the suspect, a Black male with a large build, carrying a long gun.
He was wearing black shoes, blue jeans, a long-sleeve black shirt and black mask covering his face. Sheriff's deputies said he is about 6 feet tall.
He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, and sheriff’s officials had no details about his vehicle or where he headed after that.
“The safety of our community is our top priority,” Sheriff Wally Jones said. “It is essential that we work together to prevent such crimes and ensure justice is served.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 601-783-6767 or report tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 888-755-8810.
