Pike County’s disaster recovery center for survivors of the March tornado outbreak to apply for federal assistance is closing Saturday, Mississippi Emergency Management Agency officials said Thursday.
The center is located at Silver Creek Baptist Church, 8017 Silver Drive.
As of Thursday, Federal Emergency Management Agency and U.S. Small Business Administration officials have accepted 4,204 registrations for disaster assistance, with $9.6 million approved.
Walthall County’s disaster recovery center, located in the county emergency operations center at 908 Armory Drive, Tylertown will remain open.
Center hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Pike and Walthall County residents who sustained losses during the March 15 tornado outbreak can apply for FEMA assistance by using the FEMA App, visiting DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling the FEMA Helpline at (800) 621-3362.
