Officials held a reception in town hall for Cotton, who served as chief for about a decade in the town.

2 charged with aiding escapee

Two McComb residents were put in jail Tuesday for allegedly helping a friend stay out of it.
Javier Kidd, 19, was being returned to the Pike county jail from McComb city court around noon Monday when he slipped off his cuffs and fled from an inmate transport van. He has not been recaptured.
