A Pike County man is facing charges for allegedly shooting a McComb man two weeks ago.
McComb police arrested Tra’Derek Martin, 26, of Gradyville Road, and charged him with aggravated assault, disorderly conduct and malicious mischief in connection with the shooting of DeQuantae McGhee. Martin was in jail on $450,000 bond on Friday, police said.
McGhee, 26, was shot on the 200 block of Sixth Street about 11 p.m. Nov. 19.
Police said McGhee was one of two people wounded in shootings that occurred within a 90-minute span that night.
Chief Detective Victoria Carter said the McGhee shooting appeared to be unrelated to another that wounded Labradford Leggett, 28, who was shot while standing in an apartment doorway near the corner of St. Augustine Street and Dyson Drive around 9:30 that night.
No one has been charged in that case.
Leggett is a local rapper whose stage name is PCA Beezy.
He held a back-to-school backpack give-away in Burglund not far from where he was shot earlier this year and performed at the Summit Street Unity Festival.
