Accused shooter of girl, 4, charged

McComb police charged a man Monday with multiple counts in connection with a September shooting that wounded a 4-year-old girl.
Michael D. Harris, 25, of McComb, faces charges of aggravated assault, shooting a gun into an occupied vehicle and discharging a firearm inside city limits.

Virus rates on rise locally, state health officials say

Three Southwest Mississippi counties are reporting increased COVID-19 activity, as transmission of the virus is starting to pick up in parts of the state.
Pike, Amite and Walthall counties are experiencing high COVID-19 infection rates, officials with the Mississippi State Department of Health reported Friday.

Denbury, Weyerhaeuser sign deal for carbon capture site
