ALDI will open its new store in McComb on Thursday, Jan. 19, company officials announced Friday.
The store located on the western end of Uptown McComb Mall opens at 9 a.m., and its hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Company officials said in a news release that the store will offer “fresh, organic produce delivered daily, an unmatched selection of cheese and beer, and food for every taste and lifestyle (gluten-free, plant-based, whatever you need) in addition to convenient access to curbside pickup and grocery delivery options.”
The first 100 customers will receive a gift bag filled with a sampling of ALDI products and a gift card as part of the store’s Golden Ticket program. Shoppers can also enter sweepstakes for a chance to win a $500 gift card and receive a free shopping bag through Jan. 22.
The German grocer has opened more than 1,000 new stores across the U.S. America over the past decade.
“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, and we’ve been voted the price leader for five years running,” said Heather Moore, Loxley regional vice president for ALDI. “We’re excited to open our first ALDI store in McComb and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”
ALDI is known for its exclusive store brands and operations that are different from most stores. For one, customers must deposit a quarter to access a shopping cart. Customers get their quarter back when they return the cart, preventing the need for employees to retrieve carts from the parking lot. Also, the store doesn’t use plastic grocery bags. Instead, customers are asked to bring their own reusable shopping bags.
