Ginny’s back to business in new location

Ginny’s Gifts and Collectibles is ready for some holiday cheer after being out of commission for about six months while the shop relocated.

Owner Evelyn Bell said the old Ginny’s sustained serious damage stemming from a fire near her 1313 Delaware Ave. store in February when the adjacent Backyard Barbecue burned.

Amy McKenzie of Friendship said her dog was bitten by an oddly behaving raccoon on Thursday. Turns out the raccoon most likely had canine distemper virus, according to Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks officers.
