Amite board OKs bridge work bid

LIBERTY — Amite County supervisors last week accepted the low bid from a Brookhaven contractor to replace a timber bridge on Thornton Road with a concrete culvert.

Oddee Smith Construction submitted a bid of $220,540 for the work, which had been estimated to cost $239,776.
