MHS girls win State in track

The McComb High School girls track team won its second consecutive 4A State Championship in a landslide at Pearl High School on Friday.

The Lady Tigers finished with 104.50 points, while second-place South Pike had 50 points as 36 schools competed in the meet.

N. Pike in South State Championship

North Pike’s softball advanced to the South State Championship round with a 6-3 win at Lawrence County Wednesday.

The Lady Jaguars (22-6, 8-2) swept the three-game series against the Lady Cougars 2-0. North Pike took a 6-2 lead with a four-run top of the fifth inning. Lawrence County committed four errors in the game.

McComb boys, girls both win 4A South State track meet

The McComb High School boys and girls won the 4A South State track meet at Pass Christian Saturday.

Twenty-one schools participated in the meet. The South Pike boys came in third place and the girls came in fourth.

North Pike’s girls came in seventh.

Lady Jags advance to 2nd round

The Lady Jaguars (20-6, 8-2) won Game 1 at home Tuesday 13-4.
