The McComb High School girls track team won its second consecutive 4A State Championship in a landslide at Pearl High School on Friday.
The Lady Tigers finished with 104.50 points, while second-place South Pike had 50 points as 36 schools competed in the meet.
The Tigers finished in second place in the boys meet with 73 points and Senatobia won with 105. The Tigers were back-to-back 4A State Champions going into the meet.
Sharon Botley of McComb won the girls 100-meter hurdles in 15.57 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles in 45.34.
The Lady Tigers won the 4x400-meter relay in 4:04.90.
The McComb boys won the 4x800-meter relay in 8:36.39.
Cruz Magee of McComb won the boys 400-meter dash in 49.55.
The Tigers won the 4x200-meter relay in 1:32.75.
The McComb boys and girls both won the 7-4A District Meet at home and both the 4-4A Regionals and South State at Pass Christian.
Taylor leads way for S. Pike
The South Pike girls finished in second at the 4A State Championship while the boys came in fifth place.
Davion Taylor won the 100-meter dash for the boys in 10.79 and the triple jump in 45-07.75.
Alexandre’ail Jackson won the 800-meter run in 2:25.26.
The Lady Eagles won the 4x100-meter relay in 50.22.
The South Pike girls won the 4x200-meter relay in 1:47.37.
The North Pike girls finished in 27th place.
Anite County’s Chandler wins 100, 200-meter dash at State
In the 2A State Championship at Pearl High School Friday, the Amite County girls finished in fifth place, while the boys came in sixth.
Maresha Chandler won the girls 100-meter dash in 12.45 and the 200-meter dash in 25.92.
Nailon Patrick won the boys 110-meter hurdles in 15.66.
