North Pike softball advanced in the playoffs after completing a first-round sweep with an 11-2 win at Pass Christian Friday.
The Lady Jaguars (20-6, 8-2) won Game 1 at home Tuesday 13-4.
In the series-clinching victory Friday, North Pike scored five runs in the fourth inning on a Linley Smith one-run double, an error, a Jenna Brock one-run double and Janay Maxwell and Sarah Brock one-run singles.
Jenna Brock was 2 for 3 with two doubles and one RBI.
Madison Bigner pitched a complete-game victory allowing two runs, striking out seven, walking five and giving up three hits.
Janiah Talbert had a one-run double for North Pike to get things going in the first inning.
The Lady Jaguars scored two runs in the sixth inning and another two in the seventh.
Sarah Brock was 1 for 3 with one run, one RBI and one walk; Talbert was 1 for 4 with one RBI; Bigner was 2 for 4; Madison Bates was 1 for 4 with a double; Smith was 1 for 3 with one run, one RBI and one double; Katlyn Simpson was 1 for 1 with one run and one RBI; Baylee Bryant was 1 for 3 with two runs; Whitley Howell was 1 for 1 with one RBI; and Maxwell was 1 for 3 with one run and one walk.
North Pike plays Lawrence County in the second round. Game 1 is at North Pike at 6 p.m. Monday. Game 2 is at Lawrence County at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. If necessary, Game 3 will follow Game 2 at Lawrence County on Tuesday.
