McComb man jailed on sex charges

McComb police arrested a Florence man on Wednesday and charged him with multiple sex crimes against minors.

Kameron Bateaste, 20, was charged with two felony counts of sexual battery against children younger than 10 and one felony count of touching a child younger than 10 for lustful purposes.

Tigers remain unbeaten

Thanks to a strong third quarter, the McComb High School boys’ basketball team won its home opener 69-63 against Natchez Friday night to remain undefeated.

The Tigers (4-0) trailed 32-30 at halftime. McComb outscored Natchez 20-11 in the third quarter to take a 50-43 lead going into the fourth.

Parklane, S. Pike hosting tourneys

Parklane Academy is hosting a Thanksgiving basketball tournament for the high school and junior high basketball teams Monday and Tuesday.

Parklane will play Centreville Academy Monday beginning with the junior high girls at 3:45 p.m., followed by the junior high boys at 4:45, the varsity girls at 6 and the varsity boys at 7:15.
