The Parklane Academy girls’ basketball team lost to Pillow Academy 50-46 in the Madison-Ridgeland Academy shootout Saturday.
Tootie Carter led the Lady Pioneers (6-3, 1-1) with 15 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots; Lana Moak had 11 points, three assists and two steals; Destini Brown had 8 points, nine rebounds, three steals and one block; Juliana Adams had 6 points and eight rebounds; and Taylor Murray had 6 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Lane Colquett led Pillow with 14 points, Abby Bailey had 11 and Helen Colquett and Callie Lyon had 8 each.
The Lady Pioneers won at Columbia Academy Thursday 53-44.
Carter had a double-double with 29 points and 16 rebounds, Brown had 10 points and six rebounds, Murray had 6 points and four rebounds and Moak had 4 points and seven assists.
Miranda Magee led Columbia Academy with 15 points, while Alex Anthony had 11.
“We had three tough games this week and played well in all three,” Lady Pioneers’ head coach Rusti Magee said. “The two games that we didn’t pull out could have just as easy went our way. The girls are playing hard, playing together and getting better every game.”
The Lady Pioneers junior high team lost at Columbia Academy Thursday 36-23.
Abigail Burns and Allye Byrd each had 6 points and five rebounds for Parklane, while Nan Gatlin had 5 points.
Morgan Jones led Columbia Academy with 11 points and Victoria Pace had 10.

Newlon Gillihan led the Pioneers with 15 points, Tyler Ramshur had 14, Quartez Brown had 11, Kerwon Smith had 8 and Brandt Watson had 6.
The Pioneers lost at Columbia Academy Thursday 62-44.
Quartez Brown led Parklane with 20 points, Ramshur had 12, Gillihan had 10 and Joshua Gonsalves had 2.
Parklane hosts Oak Forest Academy Tuesday, with the girls starting at 6 p.m. and the boys following.
Lady Jaguars win third straight with 55-37 victory
The North Pike High School girls’ basketball team improved to 3-2 with a 55-37 win at Brookhaven Friday night.
It was the third straight win for the Lady Jaguars.
JaNiesha McCray led North Pike with 10 points, Jessica Patterson and LaTorya Humphries had 8 each, Tykia Barnes had 6, Rachel Thompson had 5, Janiah Talbert and Zoerona Williams had 3 each and Hailey Richardson had 2.
North Pike hosts Poplarville Friday, with the girls starting at 6 p.m. and the boys following.
