Salem eliminated in first round of playoffs at Nanih Waiya

Salem High School’s football season came to an end with a 47-7 loss in the first round of the playoffs at Nanih Waiya Friday night.

The Wildcats’ (4-7, 3-3) one touchdown came on a Stevie Quinn 64-yard run in the first quarter the Warriors’ lead to 12-7. Landon Tynes, who played for an injured Ethan Leal, connected on the PAT.

SMCC loses at East Central 47-17

The Southwest Mississippi Community College football team kept things close for much of the first half at East Central Community College Saturday afternoon, but things got away from the Bears in the later part of the game.

SMCC was eliminated from postseason in a 47-17 loss to the Warriors.
