DeDeaux wins at Deer Park with 17.82

Southwest Bass Club fished Deer Park in Vidalia, La., on Aug. 21. We had 18 teams with 28 anglers show up to face a rising river stage and scorching heat.

It did not seem to faze the fish very much, or the anglers, either, as 15 of the 18 teams showed up with a limit to the scales.

Hart wins with rainy-day jig

The Southwest Mississippi Bass Club fished its eighth derby of the season with 22 teams consisting of 30 anglers at Lake Washington in Glen Allan.

Southwest was greeted by Mike Jones, owner and operator of Baits and Thangs, with a hot pot of coffee and some fishing stories.

Rials, Norton win at Lake St. John

Southwest Bass Club fished its seventh derby of the 2020/21 season at Lake St. John recently, with 23 teams consisting of 39 anglers.

The morning began with trying to get launched. I don’t believe I have ever seen that launch backed up a mile down the road with two other clubs present.

Rials, Norton win at Concordia by ‘junk fishing’

Southwest Bass Club fished its sixth tournament of the 2020/21 season with 22 teams consisting of 37 fishermen on Lake Concordia, La.

I really had my doubts this would be a good tournament, but for the first time I was wrong, as 18 out of 22 teams brought limits to the scales, and the water clarity even looked good.
