Tigers throttle Eagles 71-52

Senior post player Ladarius “Snoop” White scored 35 points and the McComb Tigers opened the 2010-11 basketball season Friday night with a 71-52 road win over the host South Pike Eagles.

In girls’ action, McComb completed the sweep with a 49-46 victory.

Unhappy landing for Eagles in postseason loss to Purvis

PURVIS —After a season-saving run through their Region 7-4A schedule, the South Pike Eagles ran out of steam.

South Pike saw its season end Friday in a 30-0 loss to the Purvis Tornadoes in the first round of the Class 4A state football playoffs.
