Burglars hit Summit jeweler

Three burglars broke into a Summit jewelry store and took several items in a smash-and-grab heist that lasted just under a minute.

Summit Assistant Police Chief Kevin Kirk said the incident happened just before 4 a.m. Friday at Nathan Allen Jewelers on Robb Street.

Woman dies in two-car wreck

A Jackson woman died in a two-car accident in Walthall County Sunday afternoon on Highway 98 near Highway 585 and Knoxo Road.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry said troopers responded to the wreck around 3 p.m.
