Charges filed in shooting

BROOKHAVEN — Brookhaven police officers have charged a 33-year-old man in connection with a weekend shooting death at a trailer park.

Officers arrested Don Bolds, 817 Saints Trail, on Monday morning on a murder charge.

He is being held in the Lincoln County jail. No bond had been set as of Tuesday morning.

Woman jumps from vehicle to escape kidnapper

A woman narrowly escaped from her captor early this morning after a man forced his way into her home and kidnapped her at gunpoint in front of her children.

McComb police answered a 911 call from a child in the 300 block of South Cherry Street shortly after midnight.
