4 Bears receive All-State baseball honors from coaches

Southwest freshman pitcher Cliff Hurst was named first-team All-State at the recent year-end meeting of the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College head baseball coaches.

Hurst’s teammates Brady Badon, Logan Ferrell and Andrew Hulbert earned second-team All-State honorees.

Nette named first-team All-State

Southwest Mississippi Community College softball star Chelsea Nette was named first-team All-State by the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges softball coaches.

Nette batted .277 for the Lady Bears this season. She was second on the team with 36 hits and drove in 12 runs while scoring 25.

Bears swept by Hinds
