Man jailed in $100K Amite drug bust

Johnson proposes bonds for work on streets

McComb Mayor Whitney Rawlings is open to any ideas his selectmen come up with to fund paving the city’s ailing streets.

At Tuesday’s work session he got one when Selectman Melvin Joe Johnson Tuesday, presented a proposal to issue a $6 million general obligation bond to fund the street paving.

Missing man’s body found

The remains of a McComb man missing since late February were found near his home Thursday, Pike County sheriff’s officials said.

Investigator Davis Haygood said the body of Mark Fortenberry, 52, was found in a wooded area on his property at 3034 McKenzie Road.
