Flippers score victory in first meet of summer

The Fernwood Flippers dove into a new summer season Monday with a win over the Briarwood Dolphins in their first swim meet of 2014. The Fernwood girls won their meet 260-200, while the boys won their meet 325-267. Of the 64 different events at the meet, the Flippers won 41 of them.

Chemistry keeps Ironhorse rolling

The Pike County Ironhorse have put the Magnolia state on notice this summer, bursting out of the gates to a perfect 6-0 start this season.

Their undefeated record looked in jeopardy Saturday night, as the Ironhorse trailed the Mississippi Maddogs on their home field in the fourth quarter.

But the Ironhorse never panicked.
