Trustees at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center approved four lease-purchases to upgrade the equipment in the catheterization lab at the Cardiac Institute of Mississippi.
“It’s that time again,” said Southwest Health System CEO Norman Price at the hospital board meeting on Tuesday. “Our equipment is aging.”
At Price’s request, trustees voted unanimously for:
• Two 60-month leases with Philips Medical Capital for Allura Clarity dose reduction and image enhancement Flexvision and Integrated Volcano system for Rooms 1 and 2 in the cath lab. The leases are $709,405 and $733,512, respectively, with payments of $11,823 and $12,225 per month.
• A 24-month lease renewal with GE Capital for a GE Healthcare Ventri nuclear camera for the cardiology department. Cost is $71,520, with payments of $2,980 monthly.
• A 60-month service agreement for the Allura Clarity and Volcano core imaging system for the cath lab from Philips Healthcare. The cost is $378,360, or $6,306 per month.
In other matters, the board:
• Approved an upgrade on the McKesson Business Insight and performance manager for cost accounting. The vendor is Relay Health Intelligence, a division of McKesson and the cost is $215,665.
• OK’d a 60-month renewal for 3M software license for the cost accounting program at a cost $223,050, or $3,718 per month.
• Heard the proposed bad debt write-offs of $131,735 for the Lawrence County Hospital in Monticello, which is part of Southwest Health System; and $2,064,421 in write-offs at SMRMC.
