Pike County’s burn ban has been lifted, civil defense officials said.
The ban, which was scheduled to last through Nov. 30, was lifted Wednesday morning following recent rainy days.
“Even though it is wet right now when you get ready to burn please be careful and don't leave any fire unattended,” civil defense officials said in a statement posted to social media. “As always, remember that the only thing that you can burn is natural vegetation such as leaves and brush and such. It is against the law to burn household garbage, furniture, tires, home renovation debris, etc.”
Additionally, civil defense officials said a new mass notification system called Hyper-Reach is available for Pike County residents to sign up to receive emergency notifications from the county or their municipality.
