The Lady Pioneers took their arch rivals to the wire in a 40-37 loss to Jackson Prep on Tuesday at Parklane Academy.
Parklane assisted on eight of its 15 made baskets, with four players finishing with six or more points.
Freshman guard Carlyle Carruth led the way with a double-double, scoring 10 points while reeling in a whopping 16 rebounds.
Junior guard Zoe Alford followed Carruth with eight points while also assisting on two buckets. Senior guard Sydney Brewer tacked on seven points, and junior forward Anna Sawyer added six to go along with nine boards to round out the top scorers for the Lady Pioneers.
Freshman guard Lay Jackson led the team with three assists.
Jackson Prep was led by Anne Marie Stratinger, who scored 24 points and netted six 3-pointers.
Parklane next plays host to Copiah Academy on Thursday.
