On the first day of the Lawrence County Thanksgiving Tournament, Parklane girls basketball took down Mendenhall by a score of 54-28.
Freshman guard Carlyle Carruth led the way with a double-double, scoring 20 points on 7-for-12 shooting and reeling in 10 boards. She also recorded four assists and hit 4-of-7 shots from behind the arc in an all-around performance.
Junior forward Anna Sawyer followed her up with 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting, while junior guard Zoe Alford rounded out the top scorers with 10 points.
Freshman guard Lay Jackson notably led the team with six assists and six steals in the game.
The Lady Pioneers will compete in the final day of tournament tomorrow.
