After falling to Southern Lab 13-8 during the regular season, it’s safe to say that Kentwood found plenty more offensive success in a 50-32 win over those same Kittens on Friday in the quarterfinals of the 1A Louisiana state playoffs.
The Kangaroos (10-3, 2-1) finished behind Southern Lab in the district standings due to that previous loss, but they continued their recent hot stretch by making up for that defeat in emphatic fashion at home over the weekend.
The 50-point performance means that Kentwood has now scored 40 or more points in six-straight games, and it has done so on nine separate occasions this year overall.
The Kangaroos next take on top-seeded Vermillion Catholic (13-0, 4-0) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday in Abbeville.
The Eagles boast a similarly explosive offensive attack, as they’ve scored 40 or more in 11 games this season, including hanging 60 points on St. Edmund in their last outing.
