No one was hurt when gunfire rang out in the middle of the night on Missouri Avenue early Wednesday morning, police said.
Neighbors reported hearing the shooting in the 400 block of Missouri Avenue at 1:19 a.m., and detectives were still working the scene well after daybreak.
Detectives retrieved more than 50 shell casings from the scene.
Detectives said at least three vehicles were hit in the outburst, but there were no other apparent signs of property damage.
One car, a Mercury Grand Marquis, had two bullet holes near the driver’ door, while another, a Nissan Altima, sustained a gunshot to its windshield and had two flat tires. A Chevrolet SUV also had a flat tire after the gunfire subsided.
Nobody witnessed the shooting, and it’s unclear if the gunmen were in a vehicle or on foot.
