S. Pike facing 1-mill tax hike

South Pike School District officials are predicting a possible tax hike of 1 mill will be needed to fund a proposed $33.8 million budget for the next fiscal year.
Business manager Delorean Hall gave a presentation on the proposed spending plan that takes effect July 1 during a budget hearing on Thursday.

Program to fund transition housing

A local fundraiser packed with live music, food and drinks will help build transitional housing to benefit those at the Greater Hope Homeless Shelter.
Thomas Enochs, who is a part of the Fernwood Foundation, has been working with Sarah Conerly since the beginning stages of the men’s homeless shelter.
