Oh brother, where art thou?

Joe and I recently returned from his traditional weekend birthday get-away.
I’d planned to write about our trip, but a torrential rain Saturday resulted in canceled plans, including the customary 10-mile trek through the cemeteries of Vicksburg. I think we have visited every dead person there at least once.

Accumulation of knick-knacks holds many memories

This week I read where a German man recently made the Guinness Book of World Records with his 1,159-piece rotating puzzle collection, his first purchase being a Rubik’s cube. I don’t like puzzles but I do like collecting, and an old turkey started it all.

Common sense isn’t skin deep in some tattoo choices

The Sept. 12 edition of People magazine featured an article on the recent break-up of the marriage of Sylvester Stallone and his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Flavin.
One photo showed Sly’s forearm with a large tattoo of Jennifer’s face. It is now covered with a tattoo of his deceased dog Butkus.
