Chamber golf tourney set for Friday

Pike County Chamber of Commerce’s 19th annual golf tournament at Fernwood Country Club is Friday, with tee times starting at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. The cost is $100 per player or $400 for a four-man team.

Saturday deadline to vote absentee in city runoffs

Saturday is the deadline to vote absentee in McComb’s Democratic primary runoffs.
City hall will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday for absentee voting.
On the ballot are unsettled races for mayor, selectman at-large and Ward 4 selectman.
The runoffs are Tuesday, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Pastor accused of sexually assaulting minor

McComb police have taken into custody a local pastor accused of sexually assaulting a minor.
Officers responded to the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center emergency room at 12:40 p.m. last Friday after receiving a report of a sexual assault on a minor.

Ultraviolet lights cause discomfort in SMCC dining hall
