Coleman to headline Summit Street Unity Festival

McComb bluesman Castro “Mr. Sipp” Coleman will return as the headliner at the Summit Street Unity Festival, which is set for Sept. 10, city officials said.
The event will begin with a parade at 11 on Canal Street, and the festival will run from noon to 8 p.m.

Kevin Washington celebrated the milestone on July 23. The city board honored him at last week’s meeting.

Clark’s planning seat still not filled

Maureen Clark’s seat on the McComb Planning Commission remains unfilled four months after the former city board opted not to reappoint her.
The board decided to re-advertise the Planning Commission opening after then-Selectman Devante Johnson alleged she made a racist statement in a Facebook Messenger conversation.
