McComb officials recognized a cemetery maintenance worker’s 20th anniversary with the city.
Kevin Washington celebrated the milestone on July 23. The city board honored him at last week’s meeting.
Mayor Quordiniah Lockley has a personal connection to Washington.
“Mr. Washington, I interviewed when I was deputy director for public works,” Lockley said. “In fact, I even hired Mr. Washington when he came to work for the city. Mr. Washington has been working for the city for 20 years.”
Lockley thanked Washington for his service.
“On behalf of the Board of Mayor and Selectmen, we appreciate your service and dedication to the city of McComb,” Lockley.
After the presentation, Washington expressed his appreciation to the city.
“I just thank the Lord that I’ve had 20 years,” he said.
