Chamber seeking new membership director

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce should have a new membership director within the next few weeks, executive director Britt Herrin said Monday.

“I expect to name someone around the first of May,” Herrin told the chamber’s board of directors at a noon meeting Monday.

Robbery suspects sought

McComb police are searching for two men who reportedly kicked in the front door of a house in the 600 block of Argyle Street and assaulted and robbed its resident about 1:30 this morning.

According to police, Robert Johnson said two black men kicked in the door, approached him in his bedroom and demanded money.

Amite OKs redistrict plan

LIBERTY — After three public hearings and four plans, Amite County supervisors took less than 30 minutes Thursday to approve a redistricting plan and send it to the U.S. Justice Department.

Board attorney Reggie Jones said he will ask the Justice Department for an expedited hearing on the county’s plan.
