The special election to fill the unexpired term of Magnolia Mayor Jim Storer has its first candidate.
Magnolia Alderman George “Lucky” Chaplain said Monday afternoon that he plans to qualify for the special election for mayor.
Chaplain said he expects to file his papers as soon as qualifying for the office opens.
