Weekend gambling raid nets 3 arrests

Three people were charged Saturday with possession of gaming devices after a raid on their businesses by Pike County sheriff’s deputies and Southwest Mississippi Narcotics Enforcement Unit and state Alcohol Beverage Control agents.

The charges are misdemeanors.

An appeal has been filed in the McComb Civil Service Commission’s decision to reinstate Greg Martin as acting police chief.

The civil service board reinstated Martin as acting chief on Jan. 14 after hearing Martin’s appeal of his Dec. 10 suspension as acting chief by Mayor Zach Patterson.
