City hail claims unsettled

Insurance claims stemming from March 2013 hail damage are still troubling the McComb city board.

Tuesday evening during a work session the board heard from Insurance and Risk Managers agent Bill Garner, representing the city’s EMC Insurance company.

Garner said the settlement is approximately $230,000.

City officials discuss street improvements

McComb’s city board focused on street improvement projects during Tuesday’s board meeting.

Pearl River Avenue, already the focus of a milling and overlay project through the use of state funds, will have water lines repaired. And the 2014 street overlay project that aims to fix parts of six streets throughout the city will continue.

Meeting to outline McComb Main St. project

Plans to spruce up Main Street in downtown McComb are well under way, with construction beginning as early as mid-November.

The approved streetscape plan, designed by Allison Anderson of Unbridged Architecture in Bay St. Louis, will give the historical area back some of its former glory.
