Southwest softball loses pair to LSU-Eunice

The Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears softball team suffered a pair of heartbreaking losses on the road at 11th-ranked LSU-Eunice on Wednesday.

The Lady Bears fell 2-0 in the opener and 4-3 in eight innings in the nightcap.

Southwest now stands at 6-4 on the season, while the Lady Bengals climbed to 19-3.

Lady Bears fall short in Region 23 tourney

The 2009-’10 basketball season came to an end for the Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears on Monday night with a 74-66 loss at the hands of rival Copiah-Lincoln in the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 Tournament in Clinton.

Lady Bears fall in first round

The Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears dropped a 69-55 decision to Itawamba on Tuesday in the first round of the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges basketball state tournament.

The loss dropped Southwest to 14-6 on the season. Itawamba improved to 17-8.

Lady Bears split softball doubleheader

The Southwest Mississippi Community College softball team split a doubleheader with Itawamba on Wednesday at Mississippi College.

The Lady Bears picked up four seventh-inning runs to win the opener, 7-5.

In the nightcap, the Lady Indians rallied to win 6-5.
