Southwest softball splits doubleheader with Baton Rouge

Jessie Penton and Austin Pruitt hit first-inning homers, propelling the Southwest Mississippi Community College softball team to a 7-2 win over visiting Baton Rouge Community College on Wednesday.

The teams split the doubleheader as BRCC took the opener 6-3.

SMCC baseball opens season with two wins at LSU-Alexandria

SMCC baseball opener today

Southwest Mississippi Community College baseball team made its first playoff appearance in nine years last season under first-year head coach Ken Jackson.

As the opening day of the 2016 season approaches, Jackson seems to feel his squad has a good chance of making a repeat trip.
