Pike County supervisors granted tax exemptions to a local manufacturer Monday despite concerns that it had recently laid off workers.
Supervisors voted 4-0, with Supervisor Sam Hall absent, to grant property tax exemptions worth $1,526,000 for real property and $578,574 for personal property to Modern Mill in Fernwood.
