Walthall asked to help with event center roofing

TYLERTOWN — The Southwest Event Center needs a new roof, but it may not be able to get one soon.
Jeff Dungan, engineer for both Tylertown, which owns and manages the Event Center, and Walthall County, told county supervisors that the town needs help to make the repairs.

Mic check: SMCC trustees OK new fine arts sound system

Sound and Communications of Pearl provide new system equipment for the building for $127,667.

Magnolia takes possession of city library

With acceptance of a quitclaim deed from Pike County supervisors Tuesday night, the town of Magnolia took sole possession of the library building and property there.
Board members accepted the deed unanimously, agreeing to pay the county $10 to take over the property.

Toyota donates cars to Walthall County schools

TYLERTOWN — Walthall County school officials accepted several large donations this month.
The district's Career and Technology Center was one of a number of districts in the state selected to receive Toyota Corollas from the company's manufacturing plant in Blue Springs, northwest of Tupelo.
