Walthall officials seeking grant for industrial site

TYLERTOWN — Walthall County supervisors gave the go-ahead for county engineer Jeff Dungan and county economic developer Pam Keaton to seek a $100,000 site development grant from the Mississippi Development Authority for a prospective industrial site north of the U.S. 98 bypass in Tylertown.

S. Pike trustees accept depository bid

South Pike officials on Thursday revisited their decision from June to maintain the district’s bank accounts at First Bank.

First Bank bid 0.05% interest to be paid on district deposits, compared to 0.15% bid by Trustmark.

Walthall board learns more on fed funding

TYLERTOWN — Walthall County supervisors got more guidance Wednesday on how they can spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in federal funding.

The CARES Act money, approaching $3 million, has a number of allowable uses, county engineer Jeff Dungan told the board, including some indirect help for county roads.
