McComb School District plans Parent Academy Tuesday

In an effort to better involve parents of McComb students, the McComb School District is preparing for its 2010 Parent Academy.

The event will be held Tuesday at the McComb High School cafeteria. A free dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., with students providing entertainment.

Budding artist has exhibit at library

Brooklyn Westmoreland has been selling her art since she was a small child.

That wasn’t long ago for the 17-year-old senior at Pine Grove Christian Academy. The buyers were her parents, who purchased her stick figure drawings and other childhood artworks for 5 to 10 cents at her “store” at home.

But it was a start.
