Hospital cuts 5 doctors

Faced with the reality of shrinking reimbursements from the federal government for health care and rising costs as a result of the new Affordable Care Act, Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center has ended its employment with five physicians and is re-evaluating all hospital employee doctors’ contracts.

McComb schools set weather make-up class days

The McComb School District will be making up snow days in March and April, and it will mean coming to school on Saturdays.

School trustees on Tuesday approved the following make-up dates:

Students and instructional staff will return on Saturday, March 1; Friday, April 18; and Monday April 21.

School board hears trustee’s concerns

The McComb school board on Tuesday debated a list of concerns from trustee Lynn Gilmore during a two-hour work session.

One of Gilmore’s issues was changing school board meetings from Tuesday to another day of the week so they would not conflict with the McComb city board meetings.
