Gloster man to serve 5 years in 2014 shooting

LIBERTY — A Gloster man must serve five years in prison after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of aggravated assault in the July 6, 2014, shooting of a Centreville man.

Randy Jamal Bell, 26, 632 W. Railroad Ave., originally was charged with attempted murder for shooting 37-year-old Derrick Lewis multiple times.

Absenteeism rates of concern in Amite
